In 1983, the Esfandiary Family opened a small restaurant in Albany Texas, not even knowing how to make a Chicken Fry Steak, or what mashed taters were. With a little help from local cooks, a very trusting banker, and with a determination that success was the only answer, they have made a name for themselves. In February of 2007 they have expanded the business to Abilene Texas. With the same work ethics and recipes it has already started to create an impact. Serving only Certified Black Angus Beef that is aged to perfect tenderness and then grilled over mesquite coals served with love and pride both locations invite you in to have a great dining experience, to relax and enjoy life.

Ali Esfandiary

Sitting in the Beehive Restaurant is the perfect place to listen to Ali tell his tales of his life as an Iranian immigrant in the United States. First born son to Rosa and Jamshid Esfandiary on January 12th 1951, in Rasht, Iran. Ali's father was in the Iranian Military, Calvary Division. Respect and discipline was what Jamshid demanded from his children, Rosa was there to provide love and teach caring for others as also her love to cook. Ali's quest began in 1969 Jamshid knew that America was the place for his children to be and Ali was the first to take the journey. Leaving in the middle of the night with only what his mother could pack in one suitcase, with a note pinned to his lapel with his flight numbers. He left his country never to return, but never forgot the love, respect, and heritage that was taught to him as a child.
